Hearing Examinations
Hearing Screenings
We offer hearing screenings for newborns to adults. A screening test helps to rule out hearing loss and determines the need for further diagnostic testing.

We offer routine screenings for educational, employment, noise monitoring and hearing conservation purposes.
A screening may take 15-20 minutes to complete.
Our Clinical Audiologist has the clinical experience and compassion to meet the hearing care needs of our patients in an unhurried manner.
Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluation
A Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluation is done to determine the type and severity of hearing loss.

The age of the patient determines the specific tests to be completed. These may include Otoscopy, Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE), Tympanometry, Stapedial reflexes, Pure Tone Air and Bone Audiometry, and Speech Audiometry.

The Evaluation may also provide insight into the cause of hearing loss and provide guidance for the Audiologist in making appropriate treatment recommendations. The Audiologist will also determine if the hearing loss is conductive (middle ear or outer ear problem), Sensorineural (inner ear problem) or Mixed (combination of conductive and sensorineural).

The evaluation may last up to 30 minutes and you should allow extra time for questions. If the Audiologists determines that you need hearing aids, also allow time to discuss your options.
